Dr. Volker Nilles

Dr. Volker Nilles studied mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University and business administration (MBA) at the Technical University of Munich. He then completed his doctorate at the chair of Prof. Wildemann.

After five years in management consulting, he initially took over purchasing in 2001, followed by production and logistics at ThyssenKrupp Metal Cutting GmbH, a leading global machine tool manufacturer. From 2005 to 2010, he was plant manager at Bosch Rexroth, where he was responsible for the transmission business. He then headed Klemann GmbH, a Wirtgen Group company, as CEO from 2010-2019. He was then a member of the Executive Committee of the Krauss Maffei Group, initially as CEO of the Injection Molding Machinery segment and subsequently responsible for the entire new machine business.

Since October 2022, Dr. Nilles has been CEO of Humbaur GmbH, the leading European trailer manufacturer.
