Tanja Scholz
Paralympic gold medal winner
biography
Tanja Scholz has been swimming since she was a child. She successfully took part in German championships and was a member of the squad. Her life changed radically in the summer of 2020: a serious riding accident led to incomplete paraplegia. Doctors told her at the time that she would never be able to be active in the water again due to the severity of her injuries. Despite this prognosis, Tanja Scholz dared to try to return to the water with a therapist. Four years later, she put in an outstanding performance at the Paralympics in Paris, winning the gold medal in the 150-meter medley. Her story is an impressive example of willpower, optimism, perseverance and hard work that ultimately turned a dream into gold.
