FUCHS PETROLUB SE is a German group in the mineral oil and chemicals sector that specializes in the production and sale of lubricants. The company was founded in Mannheim in 1931 by Rudolf Fuchs. Today, the Fuchs family still holds more than 50 percent of the ordinary shares and thus has the majority of votes. With almost 5,000 employees and a turnover of over EUR 2 billion in 2015, the company is the world's largest independent supplier of lubricants. With its several thousand lubricants, the company offers products for all areas of life and industries. Its customers range from mining and the steel industry to agriculture, from the automotive industry to the household sector and the motor oil trade. The most important regions for the Group in terms of sales are Western Europe, Asia and North America.
Mr. Stefan Fuchs, Chairman of the Executive Board of FUCHS PETROLUB SE was born in Mannheim in 1968. He completed his academic education in 1987 at the University of Mannheim, where he studied business administration. Mr. Fuchs began his professional career in 1994 as an audit assistant at Wollert-Elmendorf Deutsche Industrie-Treuhand GmbH in Mannheim. In 1996 he joined FUCHS PETROLUB AG OEL + Chemie. From 1997 to 1999 he was seconded to Fuchs Lubricants Co., Harvey, Illinois/USA, where he was responsible for the markets in Argentina, Brazil and Mexico. After his stay abroad, he was appointed Deputy Member of the Executive Board of FUCHS PETROLUB AG in August 1999 and was initially responsible for FUCHS EUROPE as CEO. Mr. Stefan Fuchs has held his current position since the beginning of 2004.
