MTU Aero Engines is the leading German engine manufacturer and an established global player. The company develops, manufactures, sells and supports commercial and military aircraft engines in all thrust and power classes as well as stationary industrial gas turbines. MTU has a global presence in key regions and markets through its subsidiaries and affiliates. In the commercial engine sector, MTU is represented with its products in all thrust and power categories: from engines for business jets and narrowbody engines with geared turbofan technology to the world's highest-thrust engines. MTU is an established partner of all the industry giants: GE, Pratt & Whitney and Rolls-Royce. In the maintenance business, MTU is the world's largest independent provider of MRO services for commercial engines in terms of revenue. It primarily supports engines in which MTU is involved as a risk and revenue partner. MTU is a global leader in the maintenance and repair of the V2500, the engine powering the current Airbus A320 family. MTU Maintenance also offers solutions for the repair of a wide range of engine types. In the military business, MTU Aero Engines is also the systems partner for almost all aircraft engines of the German Armed Forces. In addition to the provision of basic technologies, the development and production of engines and engine components, the company also provides logistics support.
Mr. Reiner Winkler, born in 1961, has held the position of Chief Executive Officer of MTU Aero Engines AG and Chief Financial Officer since January 2014. His responsibilities include accounting, controlling, strategy, legal affairs, corporate communications and human resources. Winkler has been Chief Financial Officer since May 2005. At the beginning of his career at MTU in 2001, Winkler, who holds a degree in business administration, was Managing Director of Finance, Human Resources and Information Technology. Prior to that, Winkler was Managing Director of Finance and Controlling at TEMIC Telefunken microelectronic GmbH. He also worked for Daimler-Benz AG and Siemens AG.
