Prof. Dr. Kai-Ingo Voigt

biography
Kai-Ingo Voigt studied business administration at the University of Hamburg from 1981 to 1986. From 1986 until his doctorate in 1991, he worked as a research assistant at the University of Hamburg and from 1991 to 1997 as a research assistant until he habilitated in 1997. Since 1998, Prof. Voigt has held the Chair of Industrial Management at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, from 2003 to 2005 he was Dean of the WiSo Faculty and since 2006 he has been a second member of the Technical Faculty. As a Visiting Professor, he conducts research at Tongji University, Shanghai, China, the Universidad de Alcalá, Spain, and Babson College, USA. He was also the first international scientist to be appointed Visiting Professor at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) Beijing, China.
Prof. Voigt's research focuses on the following areas: Technology, innovation and idea management (in particular business model innovations), creativity in companies, industrial value creation and Industry 4.0 (focus: automotive industry and mechanical and plant engineering), procurement, production and environmental management (sustainability in industrial operations).
