biography
Prof. August-Wilhelm Scheer is one of the most influential scientists and entrepreneurs in the German business informatics and software industry. His books are among the standard works of business process management; the ARIS management method he developed for processes and IT is used internationally in many large and medium-sized companies.
He is the founder of successful software and consulting companies. His companies include the consulting firm Scheer GmbH, the software company Scheer PAS GmbH and imc AG for digital learning technologies.
To promote application-oriented research transfer, he founded the August-Wilhelm Scheer Institute for Digital Products and Processes gGmbH in 2014.
As an entrepreneur and protagonist, he is actively involved in shaping the digital economy. He has also received several international awards. In 2017, Scheer was inducted into the German Research Hall of Fame, and last year he received the Rudolf Diesel Medal for "Most Successful Innovation Achievement".
