Klaus-Peter Müller

With a consolidated balance sheet total of over EUR 420 billion, Commerzbank is the third largest private bank in Germany and one of the most important in Europe. 33,000 employees, including 7,400 abroad, serve almost 8 million customers. In addition to the parent company, Commerzbank AG, the Group has numerous subsidiaries in Germany and abroad.

Commerzbank sees itself as a competent financial services provider for discerning private customers in Germany, as well as a creative relationship bank for successful German SMEs, for large corporate customers and institutions in Europe and for multinational companies around the world. Commerzbank intends to further expand its market share in these core target groups. In particular, it wants to be the number one bank for the German Mittelstand. In regional terms, Commerzbank is concentrating on Germany, where, as an integrated financial services provider, it maintains a nationwide branch network for advisory and sales services for all customer groups. In corporate customer business, it also sees Western, Central and Eastern Europe as core markets. In Asia and the USA, the bank is active in the most important economic centers.

Mr. Klaus-Peter Müller joined Commerzbank AG in 1976 after completing his banking apprenticeship at Bankhaus Friedrich Simon KGaA. After managing several branches in Germany and abroad for many years, Mr. Müller was appointed Head of the Central Department for Corporate Clients in 1986 and Head of the Central Department "Aufbau Ost" from 1990. In 1990, he was appointed to the Board of Managing Directors of Commerzbank AG. Since May 25, 2001, Mr. Klaus-Peter Müller has been Spokesman of the Board of Managing Directors of Commerzbank AG.

Mr. Klaus-Peter Müller was awarded an honorary doctorate from the Academy of Finance of the Russian Federation, Moscow, in February 2004. In addition to his function as Spokesman of the Board of Managing Directors of Commerzbank AG, Mr. Klaus-Peter Müller has been President of the Association of German Banks, Berlin, since March 2005.
