Katharina Kreitz
Managing Director
Vectoflow GmbH
biography
Katharina Kreitz studied mechanical engineering with a focus on aviation, gas dynamics and astronautics at the Technical University of Munich. What she always appreciated about her studies was the mixture of theoretical knowledge and its practical application. Therefore, she worked a lot during and after her studies to gain practical experience in different test environments. For example, she worked for NASA in collaboration with the Technical University of Munich to determine the neutral body posture in space.
After that, the testing and simulation of hybrid rocket thrust chambers at Airbus Space and Defense made her heart beat faster. After living in Norway for a year, she carried out the validation of the 2 wind tunnels at BMW in Munich to analyze why differences in lift and drag coefficients exist. To gain more economic experience, she decided to become an MBA fellow at the Collège des Ingénieurs in Paris, which provided an exciting opportunity to gain business and management skills through a "learning through action" approach. As an integral part of this program, she worked directly as a project manager in risk management at Lufthansa Technik in Hamburg for the Board of Directors.
The idea for Vectoflow arose from many years of experience in science and industry, when she sat in the wind tunnel with Christian Haigermoser. She has been one of the two managing directors of Vectoflow since 2015 and is primarily responsible for business development and strategy.
