Hans-Werner Bongers

Hans-Werner Bongers, Managing Director Technology at Uhlmann Pac-Systeme GmbH & Co. KGspoke in his presentation "Portfolio strategy as the basis for global market development in mechanical engineering" about strategies for the successful internationalization of business activities and the associated growth opportunities at home and abroad for a medium-sized German mechanical and plant engineering company.

In 1948, company founder Josef Uhlmann began producing precision molds for suppositories, laying the foundation for the company's development into an international market leader in the specialty pharmaceutical packaging segment. Today, the Uhlmann Group has over 1300 employees worldwide, who are responsible for a turnover of over EUR 200 million. With locations and agencies in over 40 countries worldwide and an export ratio of more than 86 %, Uhlmann Pac-Systeme GmbH & Co. KG already has a strong international focus and a wealth of experience in global market development.

Hans-Werner Bongers studied mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University. After completing his studies, Mr. Bongers initially worked as a design engineer for Wendt GmbH before embarking on a long career at Hilti AG. After being promoted to Head of the Drilling and Quarrying Technology business unit at Hilti AG in 2002, he left the company and moved to Uhlmann Pac-Systeme GmbH & Co. KG, where he took up the post of Managing Director Technology in 2004 and still holds this position today. Parallel to this function, Mr. Bongers is also a member of the advisory board of Koch Pac-Systeme.
