Dr. Wolfgang Ziebart, Chairman of the Management Board of Infineon Technologies AG, presents in his lecture "Chip sector an industry in transition. Focusing as a strategy for profitable growth", he will present success factors in an innovative and dynamic industry.

Infineon Technologies AG was founded in 1999 through the spin-off of the semiconductor business of Siemens AG. Infineon Technologies offers semiconductor and system solutions for automotive, industrial electronics & multimarket and communication applications. With its subsidiary Qimonda, the company also offers memory products. Infineon Technologies operates worldwide and manages its activities through national subsidiaries. A strong technology portfolio with around 22,900 patents and applications characterizes this high-tech company. With around 41,600 employees worldwide, Infineon achieved a turnover of 7.93 billion euros in the 2006 financial year.

Dr. Wolfgang Ziebart has been Chairman of the Management Board of Infineon Technologies AG in Munich since 2004. After studying mechanical engineering, he joined BMW AG in 1977. From 1978 to 1986, he held various positions in product development and production. Between 1986 and 1998, he held various divisional and management positions in the areas of electrics and electronics, body and vehicle electronics and small series. From 1999 to 2000, Dr. Ziebart was a member of the Board of Management of BMW AG for Research Development and Purchasing. In 2000, he became a member of the Executive Board of Continental AG. From 2001 to 2004, he was Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of Continental AG.

In his presentation, Dr. Ziebart will explain which success factors can ensure profitable growth in a dynamic corporate environment. His diverse activities and many years of experience make him an interesting speaker at the Munich Management Colloquium.
