Dr. Tilo Franz

Dr. Tilo Franz is Managing Director of Menzerna Polishing Compounds GmbH & Co. KG and spoke in his presentation "Resource efficiency in SMEs - from craft business to industrial company" about the development of a small company into a globally present SME through continuous improvement and efficient use of resources.

Menzerna Polishing Compounds is a medium-sized company that produces polishing compounds for its customers in the automotive industry, fittings manufacturers, as well as for jewelry, musical instruments and furniture. In addition to polishing emulsions, paint polishes and solid pastes, the product portfolio also includes application systems for polishing emulsions. The company is characterized by the continuous and careful further development of its products and processes, as well as comprehensive consulting and services for its customers worldwide.

Dr. Tilo Franz began his professional career in 1983 with an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk at Siemens AG before studying business administration at the University of St. Gallen from 1985, where he obtained his doctorate in 1992. Prior to his current position at Menzerna Polishing Solutions GmbH & Co. KG, he worked as a management consultant for MCKinsey & Company from 1990 to 1995. In 1995, he took over the management of Menzerna Polishing Compunds. In addition to his work as managing director of a medium-sized company, he is also a lecturer at Furtwangen University of Applied Sciences.
