Dr. Thomas Koniordos

Dr. Thomas Koniordos studied mechanical engineering and business administration (MBA) at the Technical University of Munich and received his doctorate from the chair of Prof. Wildemann. After five years in management consulting, he became COO in 2001 and was responsible for the operational management of the BAUER Gearmotors business unit within the DANFOSS Group. The focus was on restructuring the company in terms of product range, sales and production. In 2004, he took over the overall management of the BU as Managing Director and increased sales by 50% and EBIT by 17% points by the end of 2008. From 2009 to 2010, Mr. Koniordos was responsible for all activities of the MOTION CONTROLS Division in China at divisional level and improved the market position from #9 to #5.

In 2010, Mr. Koniordos took over the overall management of DANFOSS CHINA as China President with sales of 500 MEUR and 4600 employees. Since the beginning of 2013, Mr. Koniordos has been working in Europe again and was Global Head of DANFOSS INDUSTRIAL with the business units Industrial Automation, High Pressure Pumps and Appliance Controls until 2015. Since May 2015, Mr. Koniordos has been responsible for the Environmental Solutions business line with sales of 500 MEUR. BL comprises business units with solutions (technology, chemicals, services) for air pollution control in the automotive, marine and industrial plant sectors and successfully closed the 2019 financial year with 850 MEUR. Since 2020, Mr. Koniordos has been leading Yara Marine Technologies as CEO with the mission to build a technology company that enables a "greener" marine industry.
