Dr. Reinhold Festge, President of the German Engineering Federation (VDMA), member of the Supervisory Board of Zeppelin GmbH and personally liable partner of Haver & Boecker OHG, Oelde took part in the panel discussion.

Founded in 1887, Haver & Boecker is a family-run medium-sized company and comprises the wire weaving and machine factory divisions. The wire weaving mill manufactures a wide range of wire mesh types for sieving, filtration and measuring technology as well as for the architectural sector. The machine factory specializes in packaging and processing technology. It produces and sells systems and equipment for filling and processing bulk materials. In 2014, the company employed over 2,870 people worldwide in 50 subsidiaries and more than 150 agencies. In 2013, the Group's turnover amounted to €470 million.

Dr. Reinhold Festgeborn in Oelde in 1945, is President of the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) and personally liable partner of Haver & Boecker OHG. After leaving school, he did his military service from 1965 to 1967. He then studied and completed his doctorate in human medicine at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster from 1967 to 1973 and studied business administration at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München from 1974 to 1979. He joined Haver & Boecker in 1980. After working in Brazil and the USA, he was personally liable managing partner from 1987 to 2013. He retired from management at the end of 2013. The father of two children is involved in numerous committees. These include his activities as President of the VDMA, as Vice President of the BDI, as Chairman of the Latin America Initiative of German Business, as a member of the Board of the VDMA Construction Machinery and Building Materials Machinery Association and as a member of the BAUMA Advisory Board of Messe München. He is also active as a board member of the Initiativkreis Wirtschaft Oelde (IWO), as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Marienhospital Oelde and as a board member of the Sister Petra Foundation and the Loyola Foundation.
