biography

In his presentation "New business models to increase value for industrial markets", Dr. Ramon Bacardit spoke about ways and strategies to increase value in the chemical industry.

The chemical industry in Europe has been on the move for years as a result of numerous takeovers and divestments. The key challenges in the industry are the reduction of overcapacity, low margins and high liabilities. In order to sustainably increase profitability, low-return divisions are being spun off or sold. Closely linked to this is a consolidation of the entire industry, which is noticeably increasing competitive pressure. These developments are leading to a return to the entrepreneurial paradigms of value creation and value enhancement. Intensive structural measures have already led to success in some companies. Companies have concentrated primarily on their core businesses and opened up their sites for integration with other companies. German chemical companies have understood better than almost any other sector how to understand and utilize the opening up of global markets as an opportunity. Today, the German chemical industry is more international than ever before.

In his contribution to the 14th Munich Management Colloquium Dr. Ramon BacarditCorporate Vice President of HENKEL KGaA Technologies Operations & Research, will shed light on the issue of defining a new balance between in-house value creation and value enhancement and will address the question of which value enhancement strategies can be promising.
