biography

Dr.-Ing. Ralf Garlichs is Executive Vice President Products and Technology at Interroll AG. His presentation will deal with the topic "The Interroll Production System - Local Production of Global Products".

Dr. Ralf Garlichs studied mechanical engineering and subsequently completed his doctorate in engineering at the Institute for Production Systems and Logistics at the Leibniz University of Hanover. Before becoming Executive Vice President Products & Technology at Interroll AG, he was Executive Vice President for the Drives & Rollers division of Interroll AG from 2006 to 2011. After holding various positions at FESTO Tooltechnic GmbH between 1994 and 1999, including Head of Production and Logistics, he became Head of Sales for the Heating and Potable Water division of the Winkelmann Group. From 2002 to 2006 he was Managing Director of Reflex Winkelmann in Ahlen.

In the context of megatrends such as population growth, rising demand in food production, increasing mobility, increased safety requirements in air traffic, privatized postal companies, growing environmental awareness, expanding online business, etc., Interroll has defined a growth strategy with the aim of becoming the world's leading supplier of key conveyor technology products for internal logistics. Interroll translates these trends and the associated customer benefits into intelligent products, taking into account the entire development process from the initial idea through to commissioning. In close cooperation with the customer, this results in conveyor technology solutions that generate competitive advantages, decisively optimize the productivity and environmental balance of logistics systems and have a maximum return on investment of two to three years.

As a global company in the material handling industry with the motto "Inspired by Efficiency", Interroll always sees resource efficiency as resource optimization. Only better-utilized resources promote healthy, long-term growth and global market share gains in the area of conflict between economic efficiency and ecology. For example, Interroll continuously optimizes production resources in accordance with Kaizen principles. As a result, customers benefit from just-in-time deliveries and the option of outsourcing the manufacture of certain products to Interroll in order to make their own resources more efficient.
