Dr. Herbert Lütkestratkötter, Chairman of the Executive Board of HOCHTIEF Aktiengesellschaft in Essen, will speak on the topic of "Our understanding of leadership - our basis for entrepreneurship" from the perspective of one of the world's largest construction service providers.
Dr. Herbert Lütkestratkötter has been Chairman of the Executive Board of HOCHTIEF Aktiengesellschaft in Essen since April 2007. HOCHTIEF Aktiengesellschaft is the third-largest construction services provider in the world and the market leader in Germany. HOCHTIEF offers its national and international clients a wide range of services. HOCHTIEF's service modules consist of four divisions: Development, Construction, Services, Concessions and Operation. As Chairman of the Executive Board of HOCHTIEF Aktiengesellschaft, Dr. Lütkestratkötter is responsible for the HOCHTIEF Construction Services America and HOCHTIEF Construction Services Europe divisions as well as the Corporate Development and Corporate Communications corporate departments. He is also responsible for Corporate Governance.
Dr. Lütkestratkötter studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Aachen and obtained his doctorate in Aachen in the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Chair of Hydraulic Engineering and Water Management. From 1978 to 1999, Dr. Lütkestratkötter worked for Lahmeyer International in the planning and management of infrastructure projects, particularly in Asia and the Middle East. At Lahmeyer Aktiengesellschaft, he was Managing Director and, as a member of the Executive Board, responsible for technical services. Following his activities at Lahmeyer Aktiengesellschaft, he was responsible for international business at Philipp Holzmann Aktiengesellschaft from the end of 1999, where he was also Labor Director from 2000. Following his activities at Philipp Holzmann Aktiengesellschaft, Dr. Lütkestratkötter became Chairman of the Executive Board of Dussmann AG & Co. KGaA. In 2003, Dr. Lütkestratkötter joined HOCHTIEF, where he became Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board in December 2006 and Chairman of the Executive Board in April 2007.
In his contribution to the 16th Munich Management Colloquium, Dr. Lütkestratkötter will explore the question of how the basis for entrepreneurship can be created through a company's understanding of leadership.
