Dr.-Ing. Bernd Bohr, Member of the Board of Management of Robert Bosch GmbH, Chairman of the Automotive Technology business sectorspoke in his presentation "Focusing on the benefits - resource efficiency as an innovation principle" about ways and strategies to create the basis for future-proof innovation capability with a high level of resource efficiency.
Dr.-Ing. Bernd Bohr has held the position of Managing Director of Robert Bosch GmbH since July 1, 1999. Within the Board of Management, he is responsible for the central Quality function and for the Chassis Systems Brakes, Diesel Systems, Gasoline Systems and ZF Steering Systems divisions. In mid-2003, Dr. Bohr became Chairman of the Automotive Technology business sector. He is also responsible for India.
After graduating from high school in 1975, Bernd Bohr studied production engineering at the University of Aachen. In 1983, he also successfully completed his doctorate in engineering in Aachen. After working as a department head in production preparation at the Bosch plant in Reutlingen, he became assistant to the Board of Management of Robert Bosch GmbH in 1989. After a period abroad as Head of Production in Japan, he became Managing Director for the worldwide development of ABS and brakes in 1998.
In his contribution to the 19th Munich Management Colloquium, Dr.-Ing. Bernd Bohr will discuss the extent to which a company's need for innovation is influenced by resource efficiency. Mr. Bohr will be able to argue from the perspective of a company with German roots but an extremely high level of international integration. In the long history of Robert Bosch GmbH, outstanding and innovative products and solutions have always been the driving force behind the company's sustainable success. With a growing sense of responsibility towards dwindling resources, the ability to innovate is becoming even more important.
