Previously, he was Chief Lobbyist of Ford Europe as Director of European Governmental Affairs. Dr. Doepgen took over this position on October 01, 2002. Until then, Dr. Doepgen had been Head of the Representative Office of Ford of Europe in Brussels and Head of Governmental Affairs at Ford-Werke GmbH since January 1, 2000.

Dr. Doepgen was born in Karlsruhe on April 20, 1966. After studying history, English and education for secondary levels I and II at the University of Bonn, he received his doctorate in 1999 from the University of Bonn. Dr. Doepgen is married and has one daughter.
