Dr. Christian P. Illek, Member of the Board of Management for Human Resources at Deutsche Telekom AG, spoke on the topic "Digital transformation: managing ambidextrous corporate structures is the key to success!".
Deutsche Telekom AG offers products and services in the areas of fixed network/broadband, mobile communications, Internet and Internet TV for private customers as well as information and communication technology solutions for corporate and business customers. It is also represented in more than 50 countries. In the 2015 financial year, the company generated revenue of EUR 69.2 billion with around 225,200 employees worldwide - around 64% of which was generated outside Germany.
Dr. Christian P. Illek, born in Düsseldorf in 1964, took over as Chief Human Resources Officer at Deutsche Telekom on April 1, 2015. Prior to this, Illek was Chairman of the Management Board of Microsoft Germany. There, he shaped flexible working time models by abolishing the rigid office attendance requirement. From April 2010 to September 2012, Illek was responsible for marketing at Telekom Deutschland GmbH as Managing Director and thus for all marketing activities for private and business customers in Germany. In addition, he headed the Wholesale Center, Value-Added Services Center and international product development for fixed network, IPTV, convergent and business customer offerings of Deutsche Telekom AG. Prior to his appointment as Divisional Board Member T-Home (since the beginning of 2007) and Managing Director Marketing T-Mobile (since May 2009), he worked in various management positions at Bain & Company and Dell in both Germany and Switzerland. Dr. Christian P. Illek studied chemistry and business administration in Düsseldorf and Munich and began his career at Munich University in 1989.
