Prof. Dr. Bernd Martens

Prof. Dr. Bernd Martens began nfter graduating with a degree in industrial engineering from the University of Kaiserslautern He began his career at Mercedes-Benz in Stuttgart in the field of ergonomics and work design before moving to the management consultancy Roland Berger in 1995. From 1997 onwards, he worked as Head of Product Planning and Launch Management for Volkswagen do Brasil Ltda and took over the position of Director of Product Management in 1999. In 1998, Bernd Martens received his doctorate (Dr. rer.pol.). From 2002, he took over responsibility for procurement at Volkswagen do Brasil Ltda as Director, before moving to Volkswagen AG in 2005 to the position of Head of Procurement New Product Launches. From 2012, Dr. Bernd Martens was a member of the Board of Management of Audi AG and responsible for Procurement. Six years later, he also took over the IT division. With this expertise, he has now been Managing Director and Executive Vice President of Samsung SDI Europe since the beginning of 2024. 

With over 30 years of experience in the automotive industry, Dr. Bernd Martens is a leading expert and combined with his prominent role as Managing Director at Samsung SDI Europe, this makes for an interesting presentation.
