Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Klaus Helmrich

Mr. Klaus Helmrich, Member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG, spoke on the topic of "Business models in the age of digitalization".

In fiscal year 2014, which ended on September 30, 2014, Siemens generated revenue from continuing operations of €71.9 billion and a profit after tax of €5.5 billion. Klaus Helmrich is a member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG. In this role, he is responsible for the Digital Factory and Process Industries and Drives Divisions as well as for the Africa and Europe regions.

The electrical engineering graduate began his career at Siemens in 1986 as a development engineer. This was followed by activities and management functions in various areas of the company before he took over as CEO of the Drive Technologies Division in 2008. Klaus Helmrich has been a member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG since 2011. He held the position of Chief Technology Officer until September 2014, during which time he was also responsible for Human Resources as Labor Director.

Klaus Helmrich also holds various internal and external mandates: Among other things, he is a member of the Supervisory Board of BSH GmbH (Munich), Vice President of ZVEI - Zentralverband Elektrotechnik und Elektroindustrie e.V. (Frankfurt am Main) and a member of the Presidium of DIN Deutsches Institut für Normung e.V. (Berlin) and the Board of Trustees of the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB - Braunschweig and Berlin).
